GREEN BAY, Wi (WSAU) — The Green Bay Packers released back-up quarterback Kurt Benkert on Friday.
Benkert first signed with Green Bay in May of 2021. After a strong showing in pre-season, Benkert was cut on the final day of roster cuts.
The Packers signed him to their practice squad and he was elevated to the main roster on Dec 7th. His release leaves the Packers with three quarterbacks on the roster, Aaron Rodgers, Jordan Love and Danny Etling.
