WAUSAU, Wi (WSAU) — The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters continue their success to win the first game of the series against the Wausau Woodchucks 10-4.
The Rafters scored four runs in the sixth with a home run by Nate Nankil (California State University, Fullerton) and an RBI on an error by Brendan Bobo (California State University, Fullerton). Nankil had three hits with three RBI and one stolen base.
Aidan Brewer (Hillsdale College) also had three hits with a stolen base to contribute to the offense. Mckinley Erves (LaGrange College) reached base five times with two hits, two walks and a hit by pitch.
Grant Manning (Chapman University) earned the win on the mound throwing five scoreless innings with three strikeouts.
The Rafters then took game two 12-6.
The Rafters rallied back to score five runs in the four inning with a home run by Brendan Bobo (California State University, Fullerton). Bobo led the team with two home runs, five RBI and a walk. Garrett Broussard (Utah Valley University) contributed to the offense with three hits including a double and three RBI.
Brady Jurgella (Minnesota) reached base five times with a double, three walks and drove in three runs.
Cael Chatham (High Point University) was the closing pitcher throwing the last inning giving up no hits.
The Woodchucks host Madison tonight while Wisconsin Rapids returns home to battle Lakeshore.
