WAUSAU, Wi (WSAU) –The Wausau Woodchucks split the series as they defeated the Kenosha Kingfish 8-6.
Tyler Cox (Eckerd College) led the offense with four hits including a double and two RBI. Chase Hug (University of Evansville) contributed to the offense with three hits, a home run and five RBI. Jc Ng (Pomona-Pitzer) reached base three times with two hits, a walk and a stolen base scoring each time.
Nick Marshall (West Texas A&M University) started the game on the mound throwing 5.1 innings with six strikeouts. Korey Bunselmeyer (University of Illinois) earned the win throwing 2.2 innings with three strikeouts.
The Woodchucks play at Lakeshore tonight.
For their eighth win in a row, the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters defeated the Kokomo Jackrabbits 6-3.
Garrett Broussard (Utah Valley University) led the team with two hits including a home run and three RBI. Chris Conniff (Wagner College) had a single and double scoring once as he reached base. Brendan Bobo (California State University, Fullerton) had two hits with one RBI.
Nick Torres (Western Carolina) earned the win throwing five innings with five strikeouts. The Rafters had nine hits to sweep their series.
The Rafters play at Madison tonight.
