WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — For the first time since 2019, the Exhibitour returns to Downtown Wausau.
The River District is teaming up with nine other downtown businesses to bring back the art and wine event this Saturday from 5 to 8 PM. Assistant Executive Director Alyson Leahy says this year they’re bringing in an internationally known artist Alyssa Monks to jury the show in person.
She says a partnership with the Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art helped make that possible, and it’s also the first time the Exhibitour event will be juried, meaning it will feature works selected through a judging process. “We are definitely excited to bring this back to the Wausau area,” said Leahy.
Pieces from local, state, and national artists will be on display, and according to Leahy that includes works from both professionals and hobby artists. Participating businesses include Evolutions in Design, Massage Associates, 715 Tattoo Collective, Blacklash Urban Goods, D. Anthony Gallery, Eboni Fashions, The Local, Nicole’s Boutique, and Tundraland. Each business will feature artwork selected for the show and wine samples.
Leahy adds that many of those businesses will also be open for business during the event, so she encourages those attending to consider supporting them during the event.
Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door (cash only) and can be reserved at the Wausau River District website until 8 PM Friday. Tickets can be picked up at one of two check-in tables that will be located in the 300 block and 600 block of Third Street beginning at 5 PM.
