WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Most students in grades 4K through 12 may not be eligible to vote, but this year they can still be part of the mid-term election by helping design the official “I Voted” stickers for the event.
Wausau City Clerk Kaitlyn Bernarde announced the contest last week, saying any student in a Wausau school will be able to create their design for a round, one-inch by one-inch sticker. Designs can be submitted on the official city website now through September 26th.
All eligible designs will then be posted to the city’s official Facebook page, and users will vote for their favorite by “liking” the image. The design with the most likes by noon on October 3rd will be the winner. That design will be printed on the city’s “I Voted” stickers, and handed to voters after they have submitted their ballots on November 9th.
Official contest rules and entry form can be found by clicking here.
Bernarde adds that in-person, absentee voting for the mid-term will begin on October 25th at the Clerk’s office at City Hall. Voters can check the status of their registration and make a plan to vote using the MyVote Wisconsin Website.
