(Reuters) – The eighth tropical storm of the season, Tropical storm Hermine, formed in the eastern Atlantic, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said on Friday.
Hermine, about 290 miles (470 km) north-east of the Cape Verde Islands, had maximum sustained winds of 40 miles per hour(65 km per hour).
“Strengthening is possible through tomorrow, with weakening expected on Sunday, and Hermine could become a remnant low on Monday,” the Miami-based weather forecaster added.
