KNOWLTON, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — A new craft distillery with a twist will be coming to Knowlton.
WAOW TV reports that construction is underway on the Knowlton House Distillery, which will offer crafted vodka, whiskey, and gin made with milk sugar.
The enterprise will be owned by Luke and Heather Mullins. Luke is a fourth-generation cheese maker, and Heather has a master’s in brewing science. She says that just because the spirits will be made with a milk product, doesn’t mean they will taste like milk.
“Just like potato vodka doesn’t taste like potatoes, milk vodka doesn’t taste like milk. It’s still a very traditional vodka. However, it has a smoother, more velvety texture due to its source,” she said.
The couple also plans to offer a full food menu with many of the dishes featuring Mullin’s Cheese.
Construction on the facility began last month. A grand opening is planned for this spring.
