Guaranteed Rate Bowl
PHOENIX, AZ (WSAU) — The Wisconsin Badgers are heading to the desert for the 2022 Bowl Season.
Wisconsin (6-6) was selected for the Guaranteed Rate Bowl against Oklahoma State on Tuesday, December 27th at Chase Field in Phoenix. Gametime is set for 9:15 PM CT.
The Cowboys finished the regular season at 7-5 including 4-5 in Big 12 play. It’ll be the first-ever meeting between the Badgers and Oklahoma State.
The Guaranteed Rate Bowl dates back to 1989 when it was known as the Copper Bowl. It’s also been played as the Cactus Bowl, and Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl.
Minnesota defeated West Virginia in the 2021 game. The 2020 game was called off due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The game is played at the home of the Arizona Diamondbacks. It’ll be the second time in the last five years that the Badgers have played a bowl game at an MLB stadium after the 2018 Pinstripe Bowl, a 35-3 win over Miami (FL).
