MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – A Milwaukee man was sentenced to 16 years in prison for firing shots at a group of children who threw snowballs at his car.
The incident happened in January of 2020.
William Carson, 25, was found guilty of two counts of causing reckless injury and five counts of reckless endangerment.
Court records show that a group of seven juveniles were throwing snowballs at passing cars on Milwaukee’s north side. Carson made a u-turn, got out of his car, and began shooting at the group. Two of the children were hit; one in the arm and another in the thigh. A third was grazed by a bullet.
The prosecution had asked for a 20-year sentence. The judge opted for 16 years incarceration, followed by 25 years of supervised release.
