MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Bucks were part of an active NBA trade deadline on Thursday.
Jae Crowder will join the team from the Brooklyn Nets as part of a three-team deal which also includes the Indiana Pacers.
Crowder has spent the last few hours with the Nets after they acquired him from the Phoenix Suns as part of a massive deal involving Kevin Durant and four first-round draft picks. He hasn’t played for Phoenix this season after the team and Crowder mutually agreed to part in the preseason.
The deal reunites Crowder, a 2012 graduate of Marquette, with Wesly Matthews. He was named Big East Player of the Year in his Senior season.
He began his NBA career with the Dallas Mavericks. Other stops on his resume include Boston, Cleveland, Utah, Memphis, and Miami. Crowder played against the Bucks in the 2021 NBA Finals, where he averaged 11.7 points and 8.5 rebounds per game over the six-game series.
He was the only player in that series with NBA Finals experience.
Jordan Norwa, George Hill, and Serge Ibaka will head to Indiana as part of the deal to clear roster sports and salary. Milwaukee is also sending numerous second-round picks to both clubs.
Reports indicate that Ibaka will likely be bought out or waived by the Pacers.
