WISCONSIN (WTAQ-WRN) — The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation is sending over $1 million to eight local business incubators.
WEDC Chief Operating Officer, Sam Rikkers, says those local groups have a much better connection to potential small business owners than state officials.
“Our partners, they are way closer to the entrepreneurs in that community.” said Rikkers. “And so when we’re working through those partners, we’re closer to the entrepreneurs.”
Groups getting that funding include MCDEVCO in central Wisconsin, The UW Madison extension in West Allis, and the Five Lakes Institute in Milwaukee.
