MILWAUKEE, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — Milwaukee has plans for housing thousands of police officers for next year’s Republican National Convention.
The city has asked for proposals for the building of dormitories to house 4,500 police officers from other agencies around the area who will work during the July 2024 event.
The Milwaukee Police Department will provide housing, meals, parking, and transportation for the visiting officers.
City officials are eyeing several college and university campuses in the area for the housing.
Proposals for the dorms are due by the end of April, with the city making a choice on them in mid-May.
