BARRON COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — Barron County District Attorney, Brian Wright, says he should have a report on last weekend’s fatal shooting of two police officers from the state Division of Criminal Investigation in about 30 days.
He’ll then review that and release it to the public.
“These are two outstanding officers, and they deserve nothing more than this report that’s going to be coming from the D.A.’s office being done in an expedited manner.” said Wright. “I think that’s the least that we can do for the families of both officers, and certainly for the community as a whole.”
Officers Emily Breidenbach of Chetek Police Department and Hunter Scheel of Cameron Police Department died in Saturday’s exchange of gunfire following a traffic stop. Glenn Perry, 50, who they’d stopped for a warrant and welfare check, died later at a hospital.
