MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU)- The Milwaukee Brewers are in need of a win after their 3-game losing slump. They lost yesterday 2-1 against the Oakland A’s. The A’s came in with only 14 wins, and in last place in the American League West, but now they’ve won their last four games straight. The Brewers are tied atop the NL Central at 34-31, and if the A’s get the sweep today, it would be a less-than-ideal result for Milwaukee.
The game started out as a duel between Oakland and Milwaukee. The Brewers’ pitcher, Julio Teheran worked until the 7th inning allowing 6 hits, and 1 walk. He struck out 6 and threw 98 pitches, which are both season highs.
The A’s led the game 1-0 at the top of the 5th when the A’s singled. William Contreras rallied and tied the game up 1-1 in the bottom of the 8th with a pinch-hit homer.
In the end though, the A’s got the win in the 9th inning when Shintaro Fujinami scored.
The 2 teams will go at it again this afternoon, with Milwaukee in hopes to stop the sweep. Pregame Coverage for the game starts at 12:35 P.M on WSAU.
