MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – Veteran guard Eric Gordon was officially released by the Los Angeles Clippers yesterday, and several teams are already showing interest in him.
According to Kelly Iko of The Athletic, the Los Angeles Lakers, Memphis Grizzlies, Minnesota Timberwolves, Milwaukee Bucks, Phoenix Suns, and Portland Trail Blazers are all interested in signing Gordon as a free agent.
Gordon is seeking an “outlined role with a contender,” Ito said.
After being traded from the Houston Rockets in the middle of the season, the 34-year-old guard averaged 11.0 points, 2.1 assists, and 1.7 rebounds in 22 games with the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Bucks have also been linked to a possible trade for Sixers star James Harden who has picked up his $35.6 million player option with the Sixers for next season.
According to Sam Quinn of CBS, a combination of Grayson Allen, Bobby Portis, Maron Beauchamp, and Pat Connaughton might be able to match Harden’s contract with the Sixers. Milwaukee also has a few tradeable draft picks that they can use to make an offer to Philadelphia.
Sixers insider and SB Nation contributor Paul Hudrick stated, “Harden is keeping his options open to play for a contender,” which will include Philadelphia. The 10-time All-Star is likely to be on the trade market, and the Sixers are expected to listen to offers, but he notes that they will not make a deal they don’t like.
