MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Brewers have added two veterans to their roster as they make a playoff push.
Andrew Chafin was acquired at the trade deadline from the Arizona Diamondbacks, and Brian Anderson has been activated off the 10-day IL.
To create roster space, Trevor Megill and Abraham Toro have been optioned to Triple-A Nashville.
Some question the move to send Toro back down to Nashville. On Friday against the Atlanta Braves, Toro went 3-4 with 4 RBIs and has shown flashes when given opportunities.
With Luis Urias being traded to Boston, Milwaukee needs Brian Anderson to return to early-season form. Before suffering his injury, Anderson was only batting .229 with nine home runs.
