MADISON, WI (WSAU) — It’s not worth the paper that it’s printed on, but it’s still something.
Voters in the USA Today Coache’s poll have ranked Wisconsin #21 in their preseason Top 25, one of four Big Ten programs to make the list.
Defending CFP national champion Georgia was ranked #1 with 61 of a possible 66 first-place votes. Michigan, Alabama, Ohio State, and LSU are ranked 2-5, respectively.
Penn State checks in at #7. Three future Big Ten programs are also mentioned including Southern California at #6, Washington at #11, and Oregon at #15.
A handful of Big Ten teams received votes but not enough to break into the Top 25. That list includes Maryland, Minnesota, and Illinois.
Wisconsin opens the season on September 2nd at home against the University of Buffalo (NY).
