CWA Terminal Area Master Plan - Photo by Tom Schumacher
MOSINEE, WI (WSAU) – The Central Wisconsin Airport hosted an open house on Monday night to give the public a glimpse of what their new terminal area will look like.
The plan the airport has laid out is expected to take about 20 years and will include improvements and an expansion of the airport’s physical facilities.
Attendees had the opportunity to view display boards to learn about the upcoming updates, speak with members of the project team, and ask questions one-on-one.
Airport Director Brian Grefe spoke about the updates, saying, “We’re seeing a lot larger aircraft on Delta and American, and now with Avello Airlines coming, that’s going to be a large 737-sized aircraft, so we’re going to need more space, and the rest is going to be east of the terminal with an emphasis on general aviation. Some of the things we’re looking at on that end are general aviation arrival and departure facilities.”

Grefe noted that most of the funds will be provided through federal funding due to the fact that the areas being updated are mainly public areas and that local tax dollars are not expected to be a factor in these plans.
