GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – On Thursday, the Green Bay Packers added former Baltimore Ravens linebacker and special teams player Kristian Welch to their practice squad, which now has 17 players.
Welch was born in Iola, Wisconsin. He was selected as an All-State selection as a senior in high school and then an All-Big Ten selection during his senior year at Iowa in 2019.
According to Packers Wire, in 2020, Welch (6-3, 240) was a free agent out of Iowa. Throughout 43 regular-season games over three seasons (2020–2022) with the Ravens, the 25-year-old registered 21 tackles. On special teams, he made 18 of his 21 tackles.
Due to outside linebacker Kenneth Odumegwu’s international exemption, the Packers are able to have one additional player on their practice squad.
