STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — The Boys and Girls Club of Portage County is looking to help their peers in paradise.
On Friday the club will host a brat fry fundraiser at Festival Foods in Stevens Point, with proceeds going to the Boys & Girls Club of Maui, which lost one of their clubhouses in the blaze.
Brats, hot dogs, and hamburgers will be sold through the Festival Brat Barn from 10 AM to 5 PM. Group orders will be welcome by contacting Mikayla Kleifgen at 715-204-1199.

It’s the latest example of the Stevens Point community coming together to raise funds for Maui fire victims. In mid-August Sentry announced a $275,000 contribution to relief efforts from its foundation, which was split up between the United Way of Maui and the University of Hawaii’s Maui campus. The Foundation also matched all employee donations to those causes as well, and will be matching all funds raised by Friday’s brat fry as well (up to $10,000).
Sentry has had longstanding ties to the islands though their sponsorsip of a golf tournament on the island. Those ties extend to the Boys & Girls Club through Sentry’s Connected Communities initative.
