(Reuters) – A senior Hamas official said the group is open to discussions over a possible truce with Israel, having “achieved its targets.”
Moussa Abu Marzouk told Al Jazeera in a phone interview that Hamas was open to “something of that sort” and “all political dialogues” when asked whether the Islamist group is willing to discuss a possible ceasefire.
A Hamas official also stated that the group will execute an Israeli hostage for every new civilian house bombed without warning, per reports. This follows Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant’s approval of a “complete siege” of the Gaza Strip and activated over 300,000 IDF reservists in the past 48 hours.
Reports from the frontlines state that Hezbollah’s forces are being fully mobilized in Lebanon to aid Hamas’s militants and will begin heading north towards the border with Northern Israel.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Monday, “What we’re seeing in Gaza is just the beginning. We have killed hundreds of militants and will continue.”
Following the strikes by the Palestinian Islamic terrorist group, more than 900 Israelis and at least 9 Americans have been verified dead along with 2,500 injured. Over 100 hostages are also currently being held in Gaza by Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, according to the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office.
