WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The Marathon County Health Department is asking for help to locate the owner of a dog that bit a man last Friday.
Health officials say the dog appeared to be a cream-colored American pitbull that was wearing a red sweater. The owner was a man in his late 20s who was walking the dog on a leash southbound on LaSalle Street at around 10 AM.
Officers need to verify the dog’s vaccination status to prevent the victim from having to go through a series of rabies shots. Anyone who knows who the dog belongs to is asked to contact the Health Department at 715-261-1908 or Marathon County Dispatch at 715-261-7792.
