WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Another one-time lawyer for former President Donald Trump, Jenna Ellis, has struck a plea deal with Georgia prosecutors in the election interference case in Georgia, an Atlanta Journal-Constitution reporter said on X social media site on Tuesday.
Ellis is one of 18 co-defendants who were also charged with RICO along with the former president. Fulton County DA Fani Willis claimed that the co-defendants “while associated with an enterprise, unlawfully conspired and endeavored to conduct and participate, directly and indirectly, in such enterprise through a pattern of racketeering activity.”
Ellis forfeits her right to a jury trial by entering a guilty plea; she is now awaiting sentencing. Her charge carries a mandatory minimum sentence of one year in prison.
