LA CROSSE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – After suffering a cyber security attack two weeks ago, Kwik Trip’s app and rewards program are officially up and running once again, the company announced Monday.
Since Oct. 9, the convenience store has been recovering from disruptions to its internal network, including the app, website, phone system, and rewards program.
Kwik Trip has been working to restore these programs over the past two weeks, with Kwik Rewards being one of the last to be fully functional.
“We understand over the last two weeks you may not have been able to redeem or accumulate rewards and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and frustration this may have caused. We are committed to making this right with you and have outlined how we’re going to do that,” said an email statement.
An FAQ page has been launched to offer the latest information and answer customers’ questions, as well as outline how missed rewards can be made up.
Kwik Trip officials say the cyber security incident was detected and handled swiftly and at this point, no sign points to guests’ payment information being compromised.
As the last few stores recovered from the incident, Kwik Trip thanked their customers for their patience and understanding during this time.
