Wausau, Wi (WSAU) – The Community Foundation unveiled its new office on Wednesday following its move from the Dudley Tower.
The Foundation has been investing in programs such as education, the arts, and nature preservation since 1987 and has been located in the Dudley Tower for the last 14 years. Their new offices are located at 200 Washington St. next to the Jefferson Street Inn.
Community Foundation CEO Tim Parker spoke about the need for the move saying, “We’re really excited to be in this space because we’ve been to create a space that the community fully use, other non-profits can use and it also sits at the intersection where the developments are happening downtown where we have the new downtown and the classic downtown and we wanna be in the middle of that cause we want everyone in the community to become familiar with use and learn what we do.”
The new fully renovated location features lots of space that Parker feels was a major need saying, “As we’ve continued to grow we’ve needed more space and the right space was not available in the Dudley Tower so we decided to move to this space and we’re lucky.”
The Community Foundation has awarded $486,100 in grants during the first three quarters of 2023, which included $50,000 toward Wausau’s River Edge Parkway extensions project.
