The Wausau School Board and the community at large will get their first look at the proposed timeline for finding a new Superintendent on Monday.
A representative from the Wisconsin Association of School Boards is scheduled to present the board with a battery of materials including the proposed timeline, community feedback materials, and an outline of the proposed candidate interview process.
Current Superintendent Keith Hilts announced his retirement just before Christmas after nearly six years at the helm. Hilts was named Superintendent in January 2018, emerging from a field of three finalists.
He replaced Mike Schwei, who served one year as interim Superintendent after Kathleen Williams retired due to health concerns.
Dr. Fran Finco of the WASB will present the materials to the board as part of an Education and Operations Committee meeting that’s scheduled for 5 PM at the Longfellow Administration Building. Public comment is not part of the agenda, though the meeting is open to the public and will be streamed on the district’s YouTube channel.
