WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The Wausau School District will hold four focus group discussions with stakeholders regarding the search for a new Superintendent on Thursday.
Those discussions will begin at 1:00 PM with Administrators. Discussions with teachers begin at 2:45 PM, with support staff to follow at 4:00 PM.
Board members will have the last round of discussions beginning at 5:30 PM.
The focus groups are designed to help consultants build a candidate profile by identifying characteristics and qualities desired by those groups.
Thursday’s discussions will be held in the Nicholson Board Room, and are open to the public.
Current Superintendent Keith Hilts will retire at the end of June. The Board of Education hopes to close the applicant pool and select candidates to interview by the end of March. If all goes as planned the winning candidate could be named by the end of April, with their official start date being July 1st.
According to the advertisement for the position on the Wisconsin Association of School Boards website, the application deadline is March 15th and all questions about the posting should be directed to WASB Search Services Consultant Fran Franco.
