LOS ANGELES, CA (WSAU) — A 44-point explosion by D’Angelo Russell lifted the Los Angeles Lakers to a 123-122 win over Milwaukee on Friday.
Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with 34 points and 14 rebounds to go with 12 assists. Damian Lillard scored 28 points, eight of those came in the 4th quarter, while adding 12 assists and five rebounds.
Pat Connaughton scored 17 off the bench. Bobby Portis and Malik Beasley each scored 14.
Spencer Dinwiddie sealed the game for the Lakers with a block on Lilliard as time expired. The loss drops Milwaukee to 41-23 on the season and into 3rd place in the Eastern Conference behind Cleveland and Boston. They are also 0-2 on this four-game west-coast swing.
Milwaukee will stay in Los Angeles to take on the Clippers on Sunday in what will be the final meeting between the two teams at Crypto.com Arena. The Clippers are preparing to move to the brand-new Intuit Dome next year, a state-of-art $2 billion arena and event venue in Inglewood which is scheduled to open in August.
