BIRON, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — About 70 workers will be laid off at the ND Paper mill in Biron.
ND Paper Director of Communications and Government Affairs Jay Capron told WAOW TV the layoffs come as the company “[Consolidates] all grades to one of our machines, [with the other] taking market-related downtime.”
Capron confirms Approximately 70 employees are impacted by this decision. He adds that ND Paper will provide support services to the impacted employees. “We will be working with affected employees to help them access the resources needed to identify alternative employment opportunities,” he said.
The cuts come as the company lays off about 100 employees from their Rumford, Maine mill.
