MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — William Contreras drew an RBI walk in the bottom of the 9th inning to break a 5-5 tie and give the Brewers a 6-5 win over Seattle on Friday.
Willy Adames and Oliver Dunn led the offense with two hits each. They each had a solo home run as well.
Christian Yelich also went yard, his only hit of the night in four plate appearances.
Milwaukee took a 5-3 lead into the 9th inning. Seattle tied the game on a ground-rule double by former Brewer Luis Urias and a groundout by Julio Rodriguez.
Contreras’ walk was the fourth issued by Seattle pitching in the inning and came just after Jackson Chourio had been called out on strikes in the previous at-bat. The rookie finished 0-5 on the night.
Starter Freddy Peralta didn’t factor in the decision, allowing three earned runs over 5.2 innings. Abner Uribe got the win despite blowing the save in the 9th.
Milwaukee improves to 5-1 on the season. The same two teams will play again tonight, coverage on WSAU begins at 5:35.
