MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Brewers got good and bad news on Wednesday after they reinstated one of their top starting pitchers, Wade Miley, and sent prospect Kevin Hegret back down to Triple-A Nashville, but they also learned that top-ranked prospect Jefferson Quero will miss the remainder of the 2024 season.
Due to a left shoulder injury, Miley’s season debut has been delayed after coming off a strong 2023 season, where he made 23 starts and threw 120 1/3 innings with a 3.14 ERA, 79 strikeouts, and 38 walks. Miley is expected to start for the Brewers tonight against the Reds if the weather cooperates as rain continues to move over the Cincinnati area.
Quero, the 33rd-ranked prospect in baseball and the 3rd overall prospect in the Brewers minor league system will be undergoing shoulder surgery this week due to a torn labrum, which generally requires nine months of recovery time.
