MOSINEE, WI (WSAU) — The latest Never Forgotten Honor Flight takes off Monday morning for Washington, DC.
NFHF Co-founder Jim Campbell says 95 Vietnam and 11 Korea-era Veterans will board the flight to see the memorials created in their honor. The trip leaves at about 6:30 AM and is scheduled to return to Central Wisconsin Airport in Mosinee at approximately 10 PM.
The public is invited to CWA for a welcome home ceremony. Those interested should arrive by 8:30. CWA will provide free parking.
Honor Flight Veterans are encouraged to wear their NFHF shirts or windbreakers for the welcome home.
The Hodag Country Music Festival sponsors the 106 Veterans on Monday’s flight. That number brings the all-time NFHF total to 4,505 since the first flight in 2010.
Veterans who would like to sign up for a future flight can get more information at the NFHF website. The only criteria for veterans to qualify for an Honor Flight is to have served (active duty, reserves, or national guard) before May 7th, 1975, regardless of where they served.
