MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – Former President Donald Trump has lowered his VP candidate list to four and is expected to announce his running mate before the RNC arrives in Wisconsin this summer.
According to a Thursday Bloomberg story, the former president has reduced the field to four candidates: Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina, J.D. Vance of Ohio, Gov. Doug Burgum of North Dakota, and Marco Rubio of Florida and when speaking to Fox 6 Milwaukee earlier this week, the former president stated, “I’ll be picking, but probably not too much before the convention, which I happen to be having in the great state of Wisconsin.”
From July 15–18, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, will host the Republican National Convention and the vice presidential candidate has historically addressed the delegates in the evening before the conference adjourns.
In addition, it is reported that two former presidential contenders and one U.S. governor have withdrawn from consideration. These include Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who notified supporters in February that he would not serve as Trump’s vice president; tech billionaire Vivek Ramaswamy; and South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, who was taken out of consideration after disclosing in an upcoming book that she had previously killed one of her dogs after they allegedly attacked her and animals on her farm.
