WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – It is the 35th year that the Wausau Conservatory of Music has held its annual Rose Sale the weekend before Mother’s Day, and organizers hope to sell over 300 dozen roses and raise over $9,000.
All of the money goes toward student scholarships and activities, which assist the school in realizing its objective of ensuring that no student is denied an education because of their financial situation.
There will be a variety of alternatives, ranging from a sleeve of roses to a vase full of two dozen. The vases are donated and come in a variety of forms and sizes, so volunteer Ann Dahlke advised picking the one that fits you best, saying,” The variety of roses that we choose. We get the same variety every year that is long-lasting, opens up, and smells wonderful, and we’ve had really good success with this. A lot of our customers are repeat customers.”
The sale will take place on Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.
