WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU) – Volunteers are needed by the Wisconsin Rapids VFW to place flags at over 3,300 cemeteries before Memorial Day.
On Saturday, May 18, at 9:45 a.m., volunteers are asked to gather at Forest Hill Mausoleum to place American flags on veterans’ headstones in three of the bigger Wisconsin Rapids cemeteries.
Two weeks from today, Monday, May 27, is Memorial Day. This day pays tribute to all the men and women who lost their lives while serving in the armed forces of the United States, which has been celebrated since 1868.
