HOUSTON, TX (WSAU) — The Brewers took a 4-2 lead after the 4th inning but couldn’t hold on as they fell to the Houston Astros 5-4 on Friday.
Jake Bauers opened the scoring with a solo home run in the first inning. He came across to score again in the 4th on a three-run homer from Joey Ortiz.
Ortiz led all batters with three hits on the day. Bauers had one hit and one walk. Brice Turang had two hits and two strikeouts in four plate appearances.
Freddy Peralta took the loss in five innings, allowing eight hits and five earned runs. Former Brewer Jos Hader nailed down the save for Houston in the 9th, recording one strikeout.

Friday’s game was played with the roof closed at Minute Maid Park as another round of storms passed through downtown Houston. A nearby women’s soccer match between the Houston Dash and Portland Thorns was delayed by more than two hours due to rain.
Severe storms knocked out power and caused damage Thursday night, leading to a state of emergency in the city.
