MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Brewers will be without another starting pitcher due to injury, as Joe Ross was officially placed on the injured list.
According to a post on X from the team, Ross suffered a lower back strain against the Miami Marlins on Monday night and will be out for the next two weeks, and Tobias Myers has been recalled from Triple-A Nashville to start in his place moving forward. Ross will be the third Brewers starter placed on the IL so far this season, joining Wade Miley (60-day IL) and D.L. Hall (15-day IL).
Ross has struggled for Milwaukee so far this season, going 2-4 with an ERA of 4.50 and allowing 16 walks and hits this month to just 12 strikeouts, while Myers has also been unable to put up consistent starts during his time in the majors, going 0-2 and posting an ERA of 5.29 due to allowing ten earned runs in just four games started this season.
