It will be a long night for the Wausau City Council.
Coming off the Memorial Day holiday the elected leaders have five committee and council meetings beginning at 5:00 PM at City Hall.
Two agendas are one item long including a Liquor License Review Subcommittee item and one Transit Commission item. The City Council is scheduled to meet at 6:30 with a relatively short agenda featuring the appointment of an Alder to the Water Works Commission and the consideration of a request for proposals for consultants to conduct a redevelopment plan on the north riverfront. That item comes to the council with a failed recommendation from the Economic Development Committee after a 2-2 vote (Ties are considered failed).
Following a closed session, the Council will adjourn and reconvene in Committee of the Whole format to discuss the city and county’s parks and recreation agreement including an “overview of proposed contractual agreement and potential solutions for the functional role of the city’s Parks and Recreation committee.”
The agenda packet for that meeting includes a presentation on the history of the city and county parks department. To see that for yourself, click here.
