MCKINLEY, WI (WSAU) – The cause of the fire that damaged a popular Taylor County business remains under investigation this weekend by local fire departments.
A press release issued by the Sheldon Fire Protection District states that the district was notified of a commercial structure fire at Country Cut Meats in the Town of McKinley on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at 7:09 a.m.
When crews arrived on location, they discovered that the structure was completely engulfed.
The roof collapsed, making it harder for firefighters to put out the fire. The press release further detailed that the fire was declared under control at 8:31 a.m., and all units left the site by 12:17 p.m. The structure was declared a total loss, and no injuries were reported.
