MADISON, WI (WSAU) – The Wisconsin Badgers landed a key recruit on Thursday night in four-star New Mexico linebacker Mason Posa.
According to Badgers247, Posa’s commitment came just two weeks after his official visit to Madison, and he says he knew right away that Badgers was going to be a good fit for him, saying, “I just love it there. The mindset they have Just the mindset of every person there is tough.” they’re not a transactional team. They’re not always looking for transfer portal players. They want to build the program from the inside. Just the mindset of every person there is tough.”
247Sports has Posa ranked as the 18th best linebacker in the country and received scholarship offers from Texas A&M, USC, Oregon, Washington, Alabama, Baylor, TCU, and Oklahoma State before landing on Wisconsin. Posa is coming off a strong junior season, recording 133.0 tackles, 21.0 for loss, 9.0 sacks, two interceptions, three forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries.
Since Kaden Johnson in the 2020 class, Posa is the Badger’s highest-rated linebacker recruit, and he joins Cooper Catalano (Germantown, WI.) as the second inside linebacker to commit to UW in the 2025 class.
