ABBOTSFORD, WI (WSAU) — The Colby-Abbotsford Police Department has identified the suspect arrested in last week’s double homicide on Oak Street.
In a Facebook post, Chief Alex Bowman identified the suspect as Victor Manuel Gomez Acosta of Abbotsford. Officers noted that he was taken into custody at the scene and then taken to a hospital for self-inflicted stab wounds.
He has since recovered and is in custody at the Clark County jail in Neillsville. Charges against him are pending.

Officers add that the incident began at about 1:30 AM on Friday, July 5th when they were called to the home for a report of a female victim with stab wounds. She remains hospitalized. While at the home officers also found two deceased children, who also displayed stab wounds.
The names of the deceased children will not be released. Officers will also be withholding the identity of the surviving victim at this time, and no further information will be released. Officers have not determined the motive behind the incident.
