MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Brewers have agreed to a deal with the son of one of the franchise’s all-time great hitters.
According to The Athletics’ Ken Rosenthal, Jayden Fielder, 19, the son of former first baseman Prince Fielder, has joined the Brewers minor league system after going undrafted in last week’s MLB draft. Fielder, who stands at 6’1 210 LBS, was ranked as the 500th overall prospect in the country and 304th overall in the state of Florida. He does not have a true position currently but has experience at third base, second base, or shortstop and has previously committed to playing for the North Florida Osprey’s next summer.
Fielder will join the Brewers’ Arizona Complex League team in the spring in hopes of earning a minor league deal with the franchise and moving up to their Single-A team, the Carolina Mudcats, next summer.
