MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — Emilie Amundson is stepping down as Secretary of the Department of Children and Families.
Governor Tony Evers says Amundson will officially leave the position September 11.
Before being appointed DCF secretary, Amundson served as chief of staff to Evers when he was state Superintendent of Public Instruction.
Amundson says she’s been fortunate to have worked with Evers for nearly 15 years to make Wisconsin better for kids and families.
Deputy Secretary Jeff Pertl will replace Amundson.
Amundson’s departure and that of Department of Transportation Secretary Craig Thompson leaves no original members of Evers’ cabinet from when he first took office in January 2019.
