GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The Green Bay Packers released their first injury report of the season on Tuesday before flying to Sao Paulo, Brazil, on Wednesday for their week one matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.
According to ESPN La Crosse’s Paul Bretl, rookie running back MarShawn Lloyd did not practice on Tuesday after returning to practice on Monday, which head coach Matt LaFleur described as “part of the process” after having “two good days of practice.” Star receiver Romeo Doubs (hand), rookie linebacker Edgerrin Cooper, cornerback Carrington Valentine, and running back Emanuel Wilson were also limited on Tuesday.
“We’ll see; we’ll give him the week to watch him as he progresses,” coach Matt LaFleur said Sunday about Lloyd’s availability for Friday. “We’re going to be smart with him. He was limited today, but he’s doing more and more. We’ll see where he’s at.”
The third-round selection out of USC hurt his hamstring on August 10 against the Cleveland Browns in the Packers’ preseason opener, and LaFleur stated that Wilson and Lloyd could divide up the duties behind Josh Jacobs until the rookie is physically prepared to take on the full-time backup duties.
