GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The Green Bay Packers have added another veteran running back to their practice squad as the team deals with injury concerns at the position.
According to a press release from the team, the Packers signed former Miami Dolphins running back Chris Brooks to the practice squad as the team continues to work with rookie running back MarShawn Lloyd, who’s dealing with a hamstring injury, veteran back Emanual Wilson, who’s rehabbing a hip injury, and A.J. Dillon, who will miss the entire 2024 season due to a neck injury.
Brooks, who appeared in nine career games for the Dolphins, has 19 career rushing attempts for 106 yards, with most of those attempts coming during the week three matchup against Denver last season, when he rushed nine times for 66 yards. He was waived by Miami last week with an injury designation due to suffering a concussion during the team’s second preseason game.
La’Mical Perine, who signed with Green Bay last week, and Ellis Merriweather are the two other running backs the Packers have on their practice squad.
