GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The Green Bay Packers have decided who will start at quarterback in the team’s home opener next Sunday.
According to Fox Sports Insider Jay Glazer, the Packers have named recently acquired quarterback Malik Willis the starter against the Colts on Sunday as Jordan Love begins rehabbing his sprained MCL injury that he suffered late in the loss against the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil.
A third-round selection in the 2022 NFL Draft, Willis appeared in 11 games for the Titans, starting three of them. The Titans had a 1-2 record in games that Willis started.
Glazer did not state if Willis’ starting job will be determined on a game-by-game basis as the home opener against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 2, the road trip to Nashville to play the Tennessee Titans in Week 3, and the visit from the Minnesota Vikings in Week 4 are among the games Love is expected to miss for the Packers.
