Lillianna Neumann
WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — An Athens woman has avoided prison time but will serve some time in the Marathon County Jail as part of a sentence for theft in a business setting.
Lillianna Neumann will serve five years on probation with several conditions including a one-year conditional jail sentence. Meaning she must serve the first year of her probation sentence in jail.
The 25-year-old must also pay back a minimum of $51,400 in restitution and surcharges plus complete all treatment and assessments as ordered by her agents. Additional restitution may be ordered at a separate hearing in late October.
Charges stem from multiple checks she wrote from her employer’s accounts to herself and another small business she was a part of. Neumann was authorized to write checks for the business, but could not write them to herself or her other companies.
Neumann will also provide a DNA sample and pay court costs. She was immediately turned over to the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office to begin serving her jail time. A prison sentence was imposed and stayed, meaning if she does not complete her probation she will be forced to serve that sentence.
Charges against her date back to the spring of 2023. She had been free on a $5,000 signature bond.
