MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) – Marshfield Utilities has filed paperwork with state regulators for a water rate increase.
Marshfield Utilities said in its request to the state Public Service Commission that a 13% rate increase is needed because of higher operating costs, replacing lead service lines and aging water mains, and painting the above-ground water storage tank.
It’s the utility’s first rate increase request in eight years.
If approved, the new rates would take effect in 2025.
