PRAIRIE dU CHIEN, WI (WSAU) – Donald Trump linked opponent Kamala Harris to illegal immigration during an appearance in Prairie du Chien on Saturday.
Trump said Harris was responsible for “erasing our border.”
“I will liberate Wisconsin from the mass migrant invasion,” he said. “We’re going to liberate the country.”
Trump’s speech came on the same day that Harris made her first visit to the U.S.-Mexico border during a campaign visit to Arizona. Trump has claimed that Harris was ineffective as the boarder czar in the Biden Administration.
Earlier this month Prairie du Chien police arrested Alejandro Jose Coronel Zarate on domestic battery, strangulation, sexual assault, and abuse of a child. He is in the county illegally and allegedly has tied to the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua. Earlier he had been arrested and released in Dane County, a sanctuary county.
Trump says the Biden Administration has not stopped violent gangs from gaining a foothold in the US.
Trump’s Saturday rally was moved indoors because of shortage of Secret Service agents. Many have remained in New York because of the start of the new General Assembly session at the United Nations. Trump’s rally was originally planned to be outdoors at a local airport.
