GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – Packers head coach Matt LaFleur remains confident in kicker Brayden Narveson as he continues his streak of games with a missed field goal attempt.
According to LaFleur who spoke with Larry McCarren of the Packers Radio Network after the team’s 31-29 loss to the Vikings, he still has “a lot of trust and faith” in Narveson after he missed both a 37-yard attempt and 49-yard attempt on Sunday.
During his post-game interview, Narveson told reporters that the Packers “lost by two and I missed two field goals, right? I gotta own that.”
At 69.2%, Narveson’s field goal-kicking percentage now ranks 25th in the NFL following Sunday’s loss while he’s yet to miss an extra point and ranks second for points scored by a kicker this season at 36. It remains to be seen if Packers GM Brian Gutekunst will reach out to other kickers for workouts this week.
